Edison Next enhances energy efficiency and reliability at the Port of Palma

At Edison Next, we continue to advance our commitment to developing energy solutions that improve efficiency, sustainability and infrastructure reliability. As a result of this commitment, we have been awarded the contract for the electrical maintenance of the low-voltage network and lighting system at the Port of Palma, managed by the Balearic Port Authority (APB).

The service, which officially began on February 9, represents a key step in ensuring the proper operation of a critical infrastructure, both from a logistical and economic perspective, in the Mediterranean.

With an initial duration of one year, extendable up to a maximum of five, this contract will allow us to adapt the service to the port’s operational needs, ensuring continuous and efficient management of its electrical installations.

The scope of the project includes the comprehensive maintenance of the low-voltage network and lighting system, through both preventive and corrective actions. It also includes regulatory inspections, the preparation of technical reports, and the capability to respond to incidents 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

This approach ensures both service continuity and the safety of the installations and the people working within them.

One of the most notable aspects of this project is its focus on sustainability and responsible resource management. As part of our standard practices, all activities will be carried out in strict compliance with environmental regulations, including the proper management and treatment of waste generated during operations.

This shared commitment reinforces the role of the Port of Palma as an infrastructure aligned with energy transition goals and environmental impact reduction.

The contract, with a budget exceeding €545,000, is structured under a unit pricing model, enabling greater flexibility and efficiency in the execution of the works. In addition, extended warranties are included for both materials and interventions, helping to ensure the quality and durability of the implemented solutions.

At Edison Next, we will approach this project with a comprehensive mindset that combines technical expertise, operational capability and a strong focus on continuous improvement. Our objective is not only to maintain existing infrastructure, but also to optimize its performance, anticipate potential issues and contribute to the modernization of the port’s electrical system.

The collaboration and shared commitment with the Balearic Port Authority highlight the importance of building partnerships that enable all stakeholders to move towards more efficient, safe and sustainable energy models.

Infrastructure such as the Port of Palma requires reliable and tailored solutions in high-demand environments, where the reliability of the electrical supply is a critical element for daily operations.

With this new contract, we strengthen our presence in the field of strategic infrastructure and reinforce our commitment to excellence in energy management.
