A Roadmap for Decarbonization
Pascual, a Spanish leader in the dairy and beverage sector, has chosen Edison NEXT to design and implement a tailored decarbonization roadmap. The goal is to reduce emissions at the multi-product plant in Aranda de Duero (Burgos) and the milk and dairy bottling plant in Gurb (Barcelona), by investing in energy efficiency measures, renewable technologies, and circular economy solutions.
Pascual’s Sustainable Development Journey
"Give your best" is the mission of the Spanish Pascual Group. For over 50 years, it has pursued a path of sustainable development, evolving from a family-run dairy business into an international group present in more than 50 countries with a wide, diversified product range. In 2013, Pascual was the first company in the sector to obtain greenhouse gas emission reduction certification from the Ministry for Ecological Transition (MITECO). Today, the Group’s commitment to the environment continues to drive constant innovation and the adoption of increasingly sustainable solutions within its production sites.
The Edison NEXT Solution

The decarbonization roadmap will allow the Spanish Group to further improve the energy saving and emission reduction results achieved during the previous 10 years of collaboration with Edison NEXT, which is contributing with a direct investment of over 20 million euros.
The roadmap includes mature technologies such as photovoltaics—one of the most widely used technologies in the Spanish energy mix—as well as medium-term solutions like biomethane.

The Results
¹ Total avoided emissions are calculated based on coefficients established by MITECO (05/2025), corresponding to 0.283 $tCO_2/MWh$ for electricity and 0.182 $tCO_2/MWh$ for gas.
